Overview
Darshan, Then Fresh Mountain Air
Patnitop is a small hill station on the Jammu–Srinagar highway, a couple of hours from Katra. Thick pine and deodar forests, wide meadows and cool weather make it a favourite with families who want a gentle holiday after the yatra.
Your first day is for Mata. Depending on the option you choose, you either walk the path from Banganga or fly by helicopter from Katra to Sanjichhat and walk the remaining 3 km or so. Either way, you are back in Katra for the night.
On Day 2 the car climbs to Patnitop. Spend the evening at the Nag temple and walking in the forest, or try a short horse ride. Day 3 brings Sanasar's meadows and the views from Nathatop before you drive back down to Katra for your last night.
Trek Version or Helicopter Version?

3 Night 4 Days Itinerary
- Day 1 – Jammu to Katra and darshanPick-up at Jammu and drive about 50–55 km to Katra. Check in and set out for darshan, on foot from Banganga or by helicopter to Sanjichhat on the helicopter option. Return to Katra for the night.
- Day 2 – Katra to PatnitopAfter breakfast, drive up to Patnitop. Check in and spend the evening at the Nag temple and in the pine forest. Optional horse ride. Overnight in Patnitop.
- Day 3 – Sanasar, Nathatop and back to KatraMorning sightseeing at Sanasar meadows and Nathatop viewpoint, then drive back to Katra. Overnight in Katra.
- Day 4 – DepartureBreakfast and transfer to Jammu Airport or railway station.
