Why the Train Works So Well from Delhi
Katra has its own railway station, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and several trains run there directly from Delhi. That means you can board in the evening, sleep through the journey and step out right in the pilgrim town the next morning, with no Jammu transfer to worry about.
Our train package covers everything after you get off the train: pick-up at Katra station, a hotel for two nights, breakfast and dinner, and a car for local transfers to Banganga and back. You can book your own train tickets, or ask us to book them at the actual fare.
It is the plan we suggest to students, couples and families watching their budget, and to anyone who finds long car journeys tiring. Night trains are also kind to older parents, since they can lie down for most of the trip.

Trains from Delhi to Katra fill up quickly around Navratri, summer holidays and long weekends. Book as soon as your dates are fixed. If seats are not available, we can switch you to our road package from Delhi without changing the Katra part of the plan.

- Day 2 · DarshanEarly start from Banganga. Walk or take a pony or palki via Charan Paduka and Ardhkuwari to the Bhawan. If you chose the helicopter plan, our cab drops you at the Katra helipad for the flight to Sanjichhat. Visit Bhairon Nath temple, return to the hotel for dinner.

What is the price of the Vaishno Devi package from Delhi by train?
The standard package starts from about ₹5,500 per person for 2 nights in Katra with meals and transfers. The helicopter version is ₹9,500 per person. Train tickets are extra.
Are train tickets included?
No. You can book them yourself or we can book them for you at the actual fare. This keeps the package price clear.
Should we get off at Katra or Jammu Tawi?
Katra is best because it is in the pilgrim town. If your train ends at Jammu Tawi, we can arrange a car to Katra for an extra charge.
How long is the train journey?
It depends on the train, but it is usually an overnight trip of around 8 to 12 hours. Check the current timetable when you book.
Can we add the helicopter later?
Yes, if seats are available. Helicopter dates open on the 1st of every month, so it is best to decide early. See the helicopter ticket price page for fares.
