Hyderabad to Vaishno Devi: Fly In, Pray, Fly Home
For families in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Katra is a long way north, and flying is the most practical choice. Flights to Jammu usually connect through Delhi, and from Jammu Airport our AC car covers the roughly 50 km to Katra in about two hours.
Our flight package is three days and two nights: arrive and settle on day one, darshan by helicopter on day two, and fly home on day three. The helicopter takes you from Katra to Sanjichhat in a few minutes, leaving a walk of about 3 km to the Bhawan.
If you have more time than budget, the train plan covers the same Katra days with 3AC travel. It is a long journey of around two days each way, so it suits retired couples and families on long holidays.

Book an early flight from Hyderabad so you reach Katra in time to rest.
- Day 1 · Hyderabad to KatraEarly flight to Jammu, usually with a connection in Delhi. Our driver meets you at Jammu Airport and drives you to Katra. Check in, register for your Yatra RFID card and walk through the market in the evening. Dinner and overnight.
- Day 2 · Darshan by helicopterMorning drop at the Katra helipad and a short flight to Sanjichhat. Walk about 3 km to the Bhawan for darshan, visit Bhairon Nath temple and fly back. If you skip the helicopter, trek from Banganga on foot, by pony or by palki instead. Dinner at the hotel.

What is the price of the Vaishno Devi package from Hyderabad?

Is there a direct flight from Hyderabad to Jammu?
Options vary by season and many flights connect via Delhi. We find the best one for your dates.
What if helicopter seats are not available?
Seats open on the 1st of every month and sell fast. If we cannot get seats, you can trek with a pony or palki, and we adjust the price.
Can elderly parents manage the yatra?
Yes. With the helicopter they walk only about 3 km from Sanjichhat, and ponies are available there too.
How cold is Katra?
Much colder than Hyderabad, especially at night and near the Bhawan. Pack warm layers for any season.
