From Andhra to the Trikuta Hills
Families in Andhra Pradesh know pilgrimage well; many have climbed the steps to Tirumala more than once. Vaishno Devi is a different kind of journey: far to the north, high in the hills, and in a much colder climate. The helicopter takes away most of the trek so that elders can make the trip comfortably.
There are no direct flights from most Andhra airports to Jammu, so the usual route is via Delhi or Hyderabad. We plan from Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati or Rajahmundry, whichever is nearest, and line up the connection so the waiting is short.
At Jammu Airport our driver meets you for the drive of about 50 km to Katra. The helicopter flies from the Katra helipad to Sanjichhat, about 3 km from the Bhawan, with same-day return.
