Which Booking Channel Is Right for You?
Online booking suits pilgrims who know their dates well in advance. Dates open on the 1st of every month, and you need every traveller's photo ID details and Yatra RFID card ready. The best morning slots on busy dates can go within an hour, so speed matters.
Booking at the counter in Katra is an option for travellers already in town with flexible plans. Only seats left after online sales are offered, queues start very early in season, and every traveller's ID is checked. It works on quiet weekdays but is risky during holidays or Navratri.
Booking through a travel team like ours takes the race off your hands. Our own team tries for seats when dates open and, if you like, builds the trip around them: a hotel near the helipad, an AC car from Jammu and clear instructions for each counter. Fares are the same ₹2,320 one way and ₹4,640 same-day return; packages are priced separately.
Whichever way you book, the rules on the day are the same: carry the printed ticket, original photo ID, RFID card and payment card to Counter No. 3 at the Katra helipad.
Our Suggestion
If your dates are fixed and fall in a busy period, book online on the 1st or ask us to try. If you are flexible and travelling off-season, the counter may work. If you are coming from another city, a 1 night / 2 days helicopter package is usually the least stressful.

Is online booking better than the counter?
For busy dates, yes. Online seats open on the 1st of each month, while the counter only sells what is left. Off-season, the counter can work if you are flexible.
Do agents charge a different helicopter fare?
We quote the fare clearly before you pay: ₹2,320 one way and ₹4,640 same-day return per person. Packages with hotel and car are priced separately.
Can I book at the Katra counter on arrival?
Sometimes, if seats remain. Arrive very early, carry ID for every traveller, and have a walking or pony plan ready in case seats run out.
Can you book the ticket if I already have a hotel?
Yes. We can arrange just the tickets, or tickets with a car. See helicopter booking for all options.
What if I miss the online window on the 1st?
Seats may still open up later through cancellations. Check availability or ask us to keep trying for you.
