Overview
Surat to Mata's Darbar in a Few Days
Surat families, many of them running shops, diamond units or textile businesses, often tell us the same thing: they want the darshan, but they cannot be away for a week. A helicopter package keeps the time on the mountain to a single day, so the whole trip stays short.
Surat lies on the busy western rail line, with trains heading north towards Delhi and onward to Jammu and Katra. The journey usually takes well over a day. Flights from Surat to Jammu generally connect through Delhi or another hub and get you there the same day.
From Jammu, our AC car drives you about 50 km to Katra. On darshan day, the helicopter takes about six minutes to reach Sanjichhat, and the Bhawan is about 3 km further on foot or by pony. You fly back the same day and rest at your hotel.
Many Surat families travel with grandparents and young children together. We keep the plan gentle, with rest built in, and arrange ponies or palkis at Sanjichhat for anyone who needs them.
