Helicopter Darshan, Then On to Punjab
Climbing to the Bhawan and then spending a long day on the road to Amritsar can be tiring, especially for parents and grandparents. This package solves that. Your return helicopter tickets from Katra to Sanjichhat are included, so the darshan day is short and gentle, and everyone arrives in Punjab fresh.
From Sanjichhat it is about 3 km to the Bhawan, which most people walk; ponies are available too. After darshan you fly back to Katra the same day. Remember that helicopter dates open on the 1st of every month and sell fast, so the sooner you confirm, the better your chances.
Day 3 takes you about 250 km south to Amritsar and straight on to the Wagah Border for the evening ceremony. The last morning is reserved for the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh before your drop at the Amritsar airport or station.
How This Differs from Our Road Tour
The route is similar to our Amritsar Wagah Border package, but this one includes the helicopter and suits families with elders. If you only want the helicopter flights, see helicopter booking.

- Day 1 – Arrive in KatraMeet our driver at Jammu Airport or station and drive about 50 km to Katra. Check in and get your Yatra RFID card ready. Evening free. Overnight in Katra.
- Day 2 – Helicopter darshanTransfer to the Katra helipad. Fly to Sanjichhat in about six minutes and walk or ride about 3 km to the Bhawan for darshan. Fly back to Katra the same day. Dinner and overnight in Katra.
- Day 3 – Katra to Amritsar, Wagah ceremonyAfter breakfast, drive about 250 km (4–5 hours) to Amritsar. Check in and go to the Wagah Border for the Beating Retreat. Overnight in Amritsar.
- Day 4 – Golden Temple and dropMorning at the Golden Temple, then Jallianwala Bagh and Durgiana Temple. Drop at Amritsar airport or railway station.
