Mata's Darshan and Lord Shiva's Cave
Many families who travel to Katra also want to visit Shiv Khori, a natural cave in the hills of the Reasi district where a Shivling is worshipped. This plan joins the two: a helicopter darshan at Mata Vaishno Devi and a full-day trip to Shiv Khori, without changing hotels.
Shiv Khori is a road journey from Katra followed by a walk up to the cave from the base village. It is a long day, so we keep it separate from darshan day and start early. Ponies and other help are usually available on the walking path for those who need it.
Your nights are spent in a Katra hotel such as Lemon Tree or The White Katra, or similar, with breakfast. A private AC car stays with the plan for the airport or station transfers, the helipad and the Shiv Khori drive.

Is Shiv Khori Hard to Reach?
The walk to the cave is a steady climb on a paved path and takes most people a couple of hours up and back. Elders can manage it at their own pace or with a pony. Inside, parts of the cave are narrow, so loose clothing and flat shoes help.

- Day 1 · Arrive in KatraPick-up from Jammu Airport or Katra railway station by private AC car. See a few Jammu temples on the way if time allows, check in at your Katra hotel and collect your Yatra RFID card.
- Day 2 · Helicopter darshanAfter breakfast, drive to the Katra helipad and fly to Sanjichhat. Walk or ride about 3 km to the Bhawan for darshan, then fly back to Katra the same day. Night in Katra.
- Day 3 · Shiv KhoriAn early breakfast, then drive to the Shiv Khori base village. Walk up to the holy cave for darshan of the Shivling, come down at your own pace and drive back to Katra by evening. Night in Katra.
