Overview
From Mata's Cave to Mahadev's Cave
Shiv Khori is a natural cave shrine of Lord Shiva in Reasi district, believed by devotees to hold a self-formed Shivling. It lies a few hours' drive from Katra, which makes it a natural second pilgrimage for families who have come for Mata Vaishno Devi.
This package keeps Katra as your base for all three nights, so there is no daily packing and unpacking. Day 2 is for darshan at the Bhawan, on foot, by pony or palki, or by helicopter if you book seats separately. Day 3 is set aside for Shiv Khori.
The road to Shiv Khori ends at a base village, from where a walk of a few kilometres leads to the cave. Ponies and palkis are usually available there too. On the way back to Jammu on the last day, we stop at Kol Kandoli temple at Nagrota, traditionally visited by pilgrims before or after the Vaishno Devi yatra.

3 Night 4 Days Itinerary
- Day 1 – Arrive in KatraMeet our driver at Jammu Airport or station and drive about 50 km to Katra. Check in and rest. Overnight in Katra.
- Day 2 – Mata Vaishno Devi darshanEarly start from Banganga on foot, by pony or palki, or by helicopter if you have seats. Darshan at the holy Bhawan and an optional ropeway ride to Bhairon Nath. Back to Katra for the night.
- Day 3 – Shiv Khori day tripAfter breakfast, drive to the Shiv Khori base village, roughly 70–80 km away. Walk or ride up to the cave for darshan of the Shivling. Return to Katra by night.
- Day 4 – Kol Kandoli and departureBreakfast and check out. On the way to Jammu, stop at Kol Kandoli temple in Nagrota. Drop at Jammu Airport or railway station.
