Planning the Yatra from Anywhere in Bengal
West Bengal is a big state, and the best route to Katra depends on where you start. South Bengal families usually fly from Kolkata, while those in the north often find Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri station more convenient. We look at your town first and then build the plan around it.
Flights from Bengal to Jammu generally connect through Delhi, though some days may have a direct option from Kolkata. Once you land at Jammu, our car covers the roughly 50 km to Katra. Trains towards Jammu Tawi and Katra are another choice for families who enjoy rail travel and have a few extra days.
On darshan day, the helicopter lifts you from the Katra helipad to Sanjichhat in about six minutes. You then walk or take a pony for about 3 km to the Bhawan, and fly back the same day. It turns a tiring trek into a peaceful family outing.
Bengal families often combine the yatra with a holiday. If you have a week, our Kashmir extension after darshan is a popular choice, and the Puja and winter breaks are when most of our Bengal guests travel.

- Day 1 · Fly to Jammu, reach KatraFly from Kolkata (or Bagdogra on request) to Jammu. Our driver receives you at the airport and drives you to Katra. Check in and complete the Yatra RFID registration with our help.
- Day 2 · Helicopter to SanjichhatAfter breakfast, report at Counter No. 3 at the Katra helipad. Fly to Sanjichhat, continue about 3 km to the Bhawan, have darshan and fly back to Katra the same day.
- Day 3 · Easy day in KatraRest after the yatra. Visit Bhairon Nath if you wish (ropeway extra), or browse the Katra market for prasad, dry fruits and woollens to carry home.
- Day 4 · Jammu and flight homeDrive to Jammu, visit the Raghunath Temple, and get dropped at Jammu Airport for your flight back to Bengal.
