This tour is built for families who want more than a single darshan. You stay in Katra for all four nights, so there is no daily packing and unpacking. From that one base you climb to Mata Vaishno Devi, drive out to the Shiv Khori cave in Reasi district, and spend a relaxed day in the hills at Patnitop and Sanasar.
The Vaishno Devi climb is done the traditional way: on foot, by pony or by palki, at your own pace. Many elders prefer to save their energy for the Bhawan, and our team helps you pick the option that suits each person. If anyone in your group would rather fly, ask about the helicopter version of this tour.
Shiv Khori is a natural cave holding a Shiva lingam formed by nature. The drive from Katra usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours each way, followed by a walk of roughly 3 km from the Ransoo base. Patnitop sits on the Jammu–Srinagar highway at about 2,000 m and offers cool air, deodar forests and open meadows at nearby Sanasar.
Every day ends back at the same Katra hotel with dinner waiting, which makes the trip easy on children and senior travellers alike.

A gentle plan with one big outing each day and every night in Katra.
- Day 1 · Jammu to KatraPick-up from Jammu airport or railway station and a drive of about 50 km (around 2 hours) to Katra. Check in, collect your Yatra RFID card and rest well for tomorrow.
- Day 2 · Mata Vaishno Devi darshanStart early from Banganga. Walk, ride a pony or take a palki to the Bhawan, about 12–13 km each way. Return to Katra in the evening for dinner and an early night.
- Day 3 · Shiv Khori caveAfter breakfast, drive to Ransoo, the base for Shiv Khori. Walk roughly 3 km to the cave for darshan of the natural lingam, then drive back to Katra.
- Day 4 · Patnitop and SanasarDrive up to Patnitop for pine forests, viewpoints and fresh mountain air. Continue to the meadows of Sanasar in the afternoon before returning to Katra at night.

How many days do I need for Vaishno Devi, Shiv Khori and Patnitop?
Five days with four nights is comfortable. It gives one full day for each place plus arrival and departure days.
How far is Shiv Khori from Katra?
It is a drive of roughly 70–80 km, usually 2.5 to 3 hours each way, followed by a walk of about 3 km from Ransoo to the cave.
Do we stay overnight in Patnitop?
Not on this road tour. Patnitop and Sanasar are a day outing and you return to Katra. The helicopter version includes a night in Patnitop.
Can elderly parents manage this trip?
