Every year, Gujarati families set out for Mata Vaishno Devi in big groups: parents, grandparents, children, sometimes three generations together. A helicopter package keeps everyone together, because the elders do not have to walk the full 12–13 km trek while the young ones go ahead.
Your starting airport depends on where you live. Ahmedabad has the widest choice of flights towards Jammu, while Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot usually connect through Delhi or Mumbai. We compare the options and book the one that gets your group to Jammu with the least waiting.
From Jammu Airport, a private AC car takes you about 50 km to Katra. The next morning you fly from the Katra helipad to Sanjichhat, walk or ride around 3 km to the Bhawan, and fly back the same day.
