Each helicopter on the Katra–Sanjichhat route carries only about five or six passengers. A family of eight or a group of twenty will almost always be spread across two or more flights, so the aim is to book back-to-back slots rather than one aircraft.

There is also a monthly limit on how many seats one payment card can book. For bigger groups, plan ahead with two or three family members each ready with their own card, and divide the travellers between them before dates open on the 1st.

Every passenger, including children who take a seat, needs a ticket in their own name, an original photo ID and a Yatra RFID card. Infants under two usually travel on a parent's lap; please confirm the rule for your date with us. Keep all names exactly as on the IDs, because tickets cannot be transferred.

Tips for Groups with Elders

Put senior members on the earliest flight up so they have the most time for the 3 km to the Bhawan; ponies and palkis are available at Sanjichhat. Pick a return slot with a comfortable gap, and remember the Sanjichhat helipad closes at 5 pm.
