Vaishno Devi Yatra for Trichy Families
Pilgrims from Tiruchirappalli are used to great temple towns, but the Vaishno Devi yatra is a different kind of journey: a mountain climb to a cave shrine in the Trikuta hills. With the right plan, it is very manageable for families of all ages.
There are no direct flights from Trichy to Jammu, so the usual route is a connecting flight, often via Chennai, Bengaluru or Delhi. Some travellers prefer to start from Chennai for more flight choices. The train is possible but takes well over two days each way.

Trichy is warm through the year, while the Bhawan can drop close to freezing on winter nights. Pack a thick jacket, woollen cap, socks and gloves from October to March, and a raincoat in the monsoon.

- Day 1 – Trichy to KatraTake a morning connecting flight to Jammu. Our driver meets you at Jammu Airport and drives about 50 km to Katra. Check in, have dinner and rest.
- Day 2 – Helicopter and DarshanAfter breakfast, fly from the Katra helipad to Sanjichhat, then walk about 3 km to the Bhawan. Take the ropeway to Bhairon Nath if time allows and fly back to Katra.
- Day 3 – Return HomeBreakfast, shopping for prasad and dry fruits, and the drive to Jammu Airport for your connecting flight to Trichy.
