Book Your Helicopter to Mata Vaishno Devi
The Vaishno Devi helicopter runs between the Katra helipad and Sanjichhat, high on the Trikuta hills. The flight up takes about six minutes and the flight down about four, compared with a 12–13 km trek on foot. For elderly parents, young children or anyone short on time, it turns a full-day climb into a comfortable half-day yatra.
From Sanjichhat, the Bhawan is around 3 km away along a mostly level path. Most pilgrims walk it in about 45 minutes, and ponies are available if you need them. After darshan you can take the ropeway up to Bhairon Nath temple before heading back.
Helicopter dates open on the 1st of every month and popular dates are often gone within an hour. Our team tries for seats on your preferred date and slot, and if you wish, adds a hotel close to the helipad, an AC car from Jammu, and help at each counter. Every traveller needs an original photo ID and a Yatra RFID card. The RFID card can be made at the registration counters in Katra or online through maavaishnodevi.org.
Ticket Only or Full Package?
If you already have a hotel and transport, a ticket is all you need. If you are travelling from another city, a helicopter package is simpler: one booking covers the flight, hotel, meals and transfers, and one team is answerable for the whole trip.

- Day 1 – Jammu to KatraMeet our driver at Jammu Airport or railway station and drive about 50 km to Katra. Check in to your hotel, rest, and get your Yatra RFID cards ready for the morning.
- Day 2 – Helicopter and darshanEarly transfer to the Katra helipad. Report at Counter No. 3, fly to Sanjichhat, deposit bags at Counter No. 4, and walk about 3 km to the Bhawan for darshan. Fly back in your return slot and spend the evening at the hotel.
