The helicopter flies between the Katra helipad and Sanjichhat, the landing point closest to the holy Bhawan. A one-way seat costs ₹2,320 per person and a same-day return costs ₹4,640 per person. The fare covers only the flight; hotel, transport and pony or palki charges are separate.
From Sanjichhat, the Bhawan is about 3 km away. Most pilgrims walk it in around 45 minutes, and ponies are available for those who need help. On the way back, return passengers board the helicopter again at Sanjichhat.
Seats are limited and sell out quickly, especially in summer, Navratri and on long weekends. If you want the helicopter along with a hotel and car, a helicopter package is often the easiest way to plan.
