Each helicopter between Katra and Sanjichhat carries only five or six passengers, and the number of flights in a day is limited by daylight, weather and the 5 pm closing of the Sanjichhat helipad. Thousands of pilgrims want those seats, so availability is tight for most of the year.

Fresh dates are released on the 1st of every month. Weekends, school holidays, Navratri and festival days are often fully booked within the first hour. Early morning flights up and late afternoon flights down go first, because they give the most time at the Bhawan.

You can improve your chances by staying flexible: a weekday instead of a Sunday, a mid-day slot instead of the first flight, or a one-way seat instead of a return. Cancellations do free up seats later, so a date that looks full today may open again.

You can still reach the Bhawan comfortably. Walk or take a pony or palki on the 12–13 km route, use the battery car from Ardhkuwari for part of the way, or fly only one direction. Ask us about the battery car and a pony plan for elders.
