Overview
A Two-Day Vaishno Devi Trip Without the Rush
This is our most popular plan for weekend pilgrims and working families. You reach Katra on the first day, settle into a clean hotel, and keep the second day entirely for Mata's darshan. Because every transfer is pre-arranged, you do not lose time hunting for taxis or rooms.
Fit travellers usually walk the 12–13 km path from Banganga, passing Charan Paduka and Ardhkuwari on the way. If someone in your group needs help, ponies and palkis are available along the route, and battery cars run on part of the newer track from Ardhkuwari. Many groups start the climb late in the evening and finish darshan by morning.
If walking is not possible, choose the helicopter version. It flies you from Katra to Sanjichhat in around six minutes, after which the Bhawan is roughly 3 km away. That option is priced at ₹7,500 per person and is detailed on our 1 night helicopter package page.

It suits young couples, friends and fit families who want darshan without a long holiday. If you are travelling with elders or want to visit Bhairon Nath temple without hurrying, the 2 night 3 days package gives you a much-needed rest day.

A simple plan with room to adjust. Tell us your train or flight times and we will set the pick-up.
- Day 1 – Arrive and settle in KatraOur driver meets you at Jammu Airport, Jammu station or Katra railway station. Check in at the hotel and freshen up. In the evening, walk through the Katra market, have dinner and rest. Night-trek groups can start the climb after dinner.
- Day 2 – Darshan and returnLeave early for Banganga and climb via Charan Paduka and Ardhkuwari to the holy Bhawan, or take your helicopter to Sanjichhat on the helicopter plan. After darshan, return to Katra, check out and transfer to Jammu or Katra station for your journey home.

Tips for a Short Yatra
Travel light
Leave big bags at the hotel. Carry water, a light jacket and your ID on the climb.
Climb at night
Starting in the evening avoids the heat and the morning crowd at the Bhawan.
Book helicopters early
If you want the helicopter, try on the 1st of the month when new dates open.
Keep buffer time
Book your return train or flight for late on Day 2 in case darshan queues are long.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 1 night enough for Vaishno Devi darshan?
Yes, for most fit travellers. You arrive on Day 1 and complete darshan on Day 2. With elders or small children, two nights are more comfortable.
What does the 1 night 2 days package cost?
The trek version starts from about ₹4,500 per person on twin sharing. The helicopter version costs ₹7,500 per person with hotel and car.
Can we do the trek at night?
Yes. Many pilgrims start after dinner on Day 1 and finish darshan by early morning. The path is lit and busy at night.
Is the pony or palki included?
No. Pony, palki and battery car charges are paid locally at the counters on the route.
